Overcoming FGM

- In favour of the human right to physical integrity -

More and more African women and also men are persuaded of the absurdness of the custom. They would like to preserve their daughters from mutilation. Today, in nearly all affected states, non-governmental organisations (NGO) fight for the overcoming of the cruel tradition.

Thereby, awareness campaigns about the consequences of the mutilation turned out to be the most effective means to convince broad levels of the population to change their attitudes and to give up this horrible custom.

However, most of the African organisations lack the essential financial resources for comprehensive awareness campaigns. Here the work of (I)NTACT starts: we raise the necessary funds which our partner organisations use to carry out their activities.
